Angelus 215 Chronograph

Vintage Angelus chronographs from the 1940s and 1950s are beginning to get the appropriate attention they deserve as outstanding watches. This is a wonderful example of the highly-desirable reference 215, which is 38mm in diameter and features an amazing black glossy gilt dial. This is a rare and unusual dial variation and features the tachymeter miles, indicating it was likely made for the American market, although I found the watch in Germany. These watches were also issued to the Hungarian Air Force. This example has a beautiful unpolished case with crisp bevels on the lugs of the case. Special thanks to Balazs Ferenczi for his assistance in researching the watch.
