Audemars Piguet by BVLGARI 1941 Coin Watch

The most special coin watch I have had the pleasure of seeing, this Audemars Piguet coin watch dates to 1941, very early for a coin watch, and was originally sold by the legendary house BVLGARI in Rome as seen by the retailer signature on the dial. Furthermore, it is a 100 Franc French coin dating to 1863 and featuring Napoleon III. Most vintage coin watches are made from $20 US gold coins, so it is special to see this coin and one wonders who may have purchased it from BVLGARI during that World War II period. It includes the Certificate of Authentication from Audemars Piguet (which costs 1,000 CHF) and just had a full service that cost more than $8,000. It also includes a photograph from the Audemars Piguet registers from 1941 showing the coin watch was made for BVLGARI ROMA.
