Benrus Type II Class A MIL-W-50717 w/ Blue Bezel Unpolished

The Benrus Type II Class A wristwatch is one of the iconic US Military issued watches and is beginning to develop a cult following over the most recent years. It is powered by the self-winding, calibre GS1D2. The watch features fixed spring bars, and the asymmetrical case remains unpolished. It features an added vintage blue bezel - only four of these blue bezels are known and they were found in a group of vintage Benrus parts discovered by Jed Chevalier. It is sort of like a “blueberry” insert on a GMT-Master reference 1675 and a fun addition to take the watch from serious to playful.

It measures at 42.5mm in diameter and 15mm in thickness. The was issued to the US Military as part of the MIL-W-50717 contract and dated to June 1973. The watch has been in Eric’s personal collection for several years.

The watch does not come with box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
