Jaeger-LeCoultre Étrier Retailed by Hermès in 18K Yellow Gold Unpolished

Hermès is renowned for its modern production of luxury goods, yet the company’s history as a retailer is not as understood by those who are focused more on horology. However, they have always added much more than six letters on a dial. There is a romanticism embodied within the timepieces sold at Hermès. Whether the watches and movements were produced by Universal Genève, Tavannes, or, in this case, Jaeger-LeCoultre, the synergy between the historic retailer and haute horlogerie is simply magical.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Etrier is an incredibly special model that is known for Jaeger-LeCoultre enthusiasts. Along with the Reverso and Memovox, it is one of the most interesting ladies timepieces from JLC.

The present Étrier is incredibly special with the double-signed Hermès dial. Étrier litteraly translates to “stirrup” - the loop/ring attached to the horse saddle which supports the rider's feet. The lugs are dramatically stylized, and perhaps were somewhat of an inspiration for the modern Slim d’Hermès. This Értier dates to the 1960s. It features a later leather strap and the original gold buckle with French hallmarks. It measures 20mm in diameter by 34mm in length. The case is made of 18k yellow gold. The silver dial is gorgeous. For those looking for an incredible ladies timepiece, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Étrier is a rare classic.

WatchAbbie has a very similar example and wrote about these watches in her article ‘The Jaeger-LeCoultre Étrier: The Coolest Ladies JLC You Do Not Know About’.

We do not know the service history, but the watch is running well. It does not come with a box or papers.
