Movado Calendoplan Reference 8137

This Movado Calendoplan ref. 8137 has an 18kt yellow gold case manufactured by Ed. Wenger, SA. With faceted, downturned lugs, the watch wears slightly larger than its 34mm diameter (excluding the crown). The watch has its original snap-on caseback, dust cover for the movement and appears to be unpolished. The dial has aged to an attractive brown/cream and has its original applied gold hour markers (including Arabic 12 o’clock marker) and sector ring that uniquely bends around the stepped date window at 3 o’clock. The original, gold baton-style hands have aged nicely, consistent with the dial and hour markers. The printing of the railroad-style outer track and sub-seconds display is consistent around the dial and shows minimal signs of wear.

The watch is powered by a Movado caliber 128 that contains 15 jewels. The signed movement shows some wear consistent with the rest of the watch and is running well, keeping accurate time. The caliber 128 features an early iteration of the ‘quickset’ function for the date and features a pusher at 4 o’clock used to advance the date independent of the time of day.
