OMEGA Speedmaster “T.A.T. Flying Club” Ref. 105.012-66

The Omega Speedmaster was introduced in 1957, initially created for drivers in automotive racing. However, it would reach iconic status by eventually reaching spaceflight qualification by NASA amongst several of the highest grade chronographs of its era.

This is an outstanding Omega Speedmaster reference 105.012-66 is a classic vintage model and would make an excellent addition to any collection.

The reference 105.012 was the first Speedmaster with crown and pusher guards, garnering the “Professional” name on the dial for the case upgrade. It was the first asymmetrical case to be released in the Speedmaster line from 1963 to 1966. The serial number of this example dates to circa 1967. The caseback features a “T.A.T. Flying Club” inscription.

The dial is stepped and includes an applied Omega logo. The watch is powered by the legendary calibre 321 (manufactured by Lemania), which was recently re-released to the excitement of many Speedy lovers.

To learn more about the Omega Speedmaster, you can watch ‘Reference Points: Understanding The Entire Lineage Of The Omega Speedmaster’ video I made with Ben Clymer in 2015 (and corresponding article).

The watch does not come with box or papers. We do not know the service history but it is running well.
