Patek Philippe Observatory Dial Pocket Watch in Stainless Steel Unpolished
This is an incredible and rare Patek Philippe steel pocket watch. The dial is particularly special and features the “Observatory Dial” seen on various important Calatravas as well as the famous J.B. Champion Patek Philippe Reference 2458 in platinum which was the most expensive wristwatch in the world!
The steel case is massive and measures 50mm in diameter. We believe the case is unpolished. The watch is powered by an 18’ manual wind movement form 1891 which is based on the French invention patent by Jean-Adrien Philippe (No. 142 376).
We understand the watch came from Francois Modoux - an important watchmaker who worked for Patek Philippe.
The watch does not include box and papers. It comes with an Extract from the Archives of Patek Philippe citing the date of sale in 1937.
