GQ: That Rolex From Drake’s Take Care Cover Is Now For Sale
Josiah Gogarty recently wrote for GQ ‘That Rolex from Drake’s Take Care cover is now on sale for, wait – how much?’
Similarly, Drake has a lot of big watches. He’s got Audemars Piguets, Patek Philippes and Rolexes galore, plus crazy, kooky pieces like the Richard Mille RM 69 Erotic, which has three rollers inlaid with various seductive phrases; press a button, and it’ll generate such lines as “I want to caress you madly” or “I need to explore your lips”. Only a guy with his comically over-the-top lothario persona – a guy who named an album Certified Lover Boy, with a cover of pregnant women emojis – could pull something like that off.
But the watch that’s most quintessentially Drake is now up for purchase courtesy of Eric Wind’s Wind Vintage, which acquired it via the original owner, a colleague of the rapper in his early years of his career. “The watch did not come from Drake, but from someone in his circle who lent it to him around the time of Take Care. I had been chasing this watch for many years and am happy to have secured it for sale," Eric Wind tells GQ over email.
