Rolex Air-King Ref. 14000 Silver Dial w/ Papers Unpolished

This Rolex Air King is a highly attractive example and has a silver dial. The watch has an E serial number dating to circa 1990, making it one of the earliest examples of the reference 14000 produced. It is paired with what is presumably its original steel Oyster bracelet ref. 78350 with an O3 clasp code dating to circa 1990, as well. The case and bracelet are in great shape and appear to be unpolished.

It features the early “Precision” font for the reference 14000 that is slightly thicker. It also is an early example with a “holes case” where each of the four lugs has a hole to access the spring bars for holding the bracelet. A few years later, the reference 14000 moved to have a solid “no-holes case” where the spring bars could only be accessed from the end links.

The watch does not come with a box. It does come with papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well. The watch recently passed an 5-bar water resistance test. The sapphire crystal is probably original.

The dimensions are approximately 34mm in diameter with a lug-to-lug length of 43mm.

It’s a super fun piece in a timeless and highly-wearable case size. It is one of the absolute best Rolex watches you can buy for the money and we love them!
