Rolex Black Dial Two-Tone Zenith Daytona Reference 16523 with Papers Unpolished P Serial

This two-tone Rolex Zenith Daytona Reference 16523 dates to 2000. It has a P serial number, which denotes the final run of the reference 16523 and is very uncommon. There were also some P serial reference 116523 examples made with the in-house Rolex automatic calibre 4130.

The “Zenith Daytonas” have appreciated significantly the last few years as people respect the modified Zenith El Primero movements that Rolex used for their first automatic Daytonas starting in 1988. The case appears to be unpolished. It measures 40mm in diameter (46mm lug-to-lug). One of the end links is an incorrect end link, but matches well.

The two-tone oyster bracelet reference 78393 has a V9 serial and dates to circa 1996 and is likely original to the watch.

This watch does not come with a box. The watch comes with original papers.

The watch recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar. We do not know the service history, but the watch is running well.

There is a guy who has been asking us about P serial Daytonas for years. We are confident he will not buy this when we send it to him!
