Rolex Gilt Dial Explorer I Ref. 1016
The Rolex Explorer reference 1016 is one of the purest expressions of watch design, and it is for this reason that I am probably asked for vintage Explorer reference 1016s more than any other watch. This model features a gilt dial. The watch features a 1.50M serial dating to circa 1966.
The case is 36mm in diameter. It has been polished. It is paired on a Rolex 7206 Oyster bracelet dating to 1965 with 80 end links which are for GMT-Masters and Submariners.
The watch does not include box or papers, has an automatic movement (Caliber 1570 made by Rolex). We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
