Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bubbleback Reference 3131 in 14k Yellow Gold

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Bubbleback” reference 3131 is a fascinating and early waterproof Rolex model. This example dates to circa 1946 with a 459,XXX serial. The case is made of 14k yellow gold. It has been lightly polished but is in nice condition. It features a non-luminous dial with applied numerals. The crown is a later replaced Oyster crown. The case measures 32.5mm in diameter (39.5mm lug-to-lug).

The watch does not come with box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
