Rolex Red Submariner Ref. 1680 Unpolished

This Rolex reference 1680 “Red Sub” is a great ‘date’ Submariner  in stainless steel. The watch features a 3.03M serial number and dates to circa 1972. It is paired with a reference 9315 Rolex folded link Oyster bracelet dating to 1972. It comes with the correct 280 end-links. We believe it to be original to the watch. The dial is attractive and features Submariner in red writing along with tritium luminous plots that have turned warm with patina. The hands have been relumed The case appears unpolished. 

The lug-to-lug length is approximately 47mm and it measures 40mm in diameter excluding the crown. 

The watch does not come with a box and papers. We do not know the service history but it is running well. The watch recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar.
