Rolex Submariner Transitional Matte Dial Ref. 16800

The Rolex Submariner is one of the most renowned sports watches of all time. This example with a transitional matte dial features a 6.3M serial number dating to circa 1979. The dial features tritium luminous material without white metal surrounds, which would go on to replace these late matte dials. The case has been polished. It is paired on a Rolex bracelet with VE bracelet code dating to circa 1980.

We do not know the service history, but the watch is running well. It recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar. It does not come with the original box or papers.
