Rolex Submariner Ref 5508 Unpolished

The Rolex Submariner is one of the most iconic sports watches that was introduced in 1953. It is a model that represents the greatest attributes of the manufacturer. The reference 5508 began production in circa 1958 and lasted to 1962. It is also the last of the no-crown-guard Submariners.

This is a very cool example that dates to circa 1958 with a 361,XXX serial. The case measures 38mm in diameter (48mm lug-to-lug).

It comes with original crystal, but was replaced due to cracks. The case appears to be unpolished.

The watch does not come with box and papers. It was recently serviced and it is running well. It recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar.

The watch comes from the son of the original owner. These Submariners used to trade in the range of $80-$90k in circa 2017-2018
