Rolex Submariner Reference 1680 in 18K YG

This early gold Submariner reference 1680 is extremely special and rare. This example was produced shortly after the meters-first versions, one of which went for almost $200,000 at auction. Only 5,765 examples of the 1680 in yellow gold were produced according to Rolex.

This example dates to circa 1971, with a 2.5m serial number.  The case is in overall strong condition and has been lightly polished in the past. The hands have also been re-lumed.

The bracelet appears to be slightly newer - circa 1973 to 1975 based on the lack of date code.
