Universal Genève A. Cairelli Split-Seconds Chronograph Reference 22560

This Universal Geneve A. Cairelli Split Seconds Chronograph Reference 22560 is extremely rare. The watch is possibly a civilian model given the lack of engravings on the case back. It features time delineated in 24 hours instead of the typical 12 hours, presumably designed for use by the Italian Air Force. These watches are owned by legendary collectors including John Goldberger (as seen in his first Talking Watches episode) and Ben Clymer. The watch has a modified Valjoux 55, which is also found in the famous and extremely rare Rolex split-seconds chronograph reference 4113.

The case appears to be lightly polished, but is in strong condition. The dial has some wear, but appears honest and charismatic in person. The watch does not include box and papers, but it does have an Extract from the Archives of Universal Geneve. This is a rare opportunity to own one of these watches.
