F.P.Journe Chronomètre à Résonance Brass Movement 38MM Platinum Full Set
F.P.Journe has become one of the most sought after and beloved independent watchmakers. Mr. Journe is one of the most significant watchmakers of the past century and the Chronomètre à Résonance is arguably his most iconic model.
This 38mm F.P.Journe Chronomètre à Résonance in platinum with brass movement is one of the first 70 produced. This white gold dial has developed a sensational and shimmery patina, which is the charm of these early Journe watches. The case is probably unpolished.
The two-tone sub-dials are also original, which is important as these are sometimes replaced and ruins the look. It also has a thinner font on the power reserve. The engravings are not shallow, but it is extremely early.
Complicated F.P.Journe models have been achieving records at auction in recent months. A platinum example just sold for $762,000 and a pink gold example just sold for $685,800.
This watch was originally purchased new in 2004. It comes full set with the original box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak A Series Ref 5402ST
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is an icon. It is the original luxury sports watch that created and defined the category. Introduced at BaselWorld in 1972 after being designed by Gérald Genta, it turned the Swiss industry upside down and changed the fortunes of the struggling Audemars Piguet. It’s no surprise, that Patek Philippe hired Gerald Genta a few years later to introduce their own version of a steel luxury sports watch: the Nautilus.
The origin of the species is the Royal Oak reference 5402ST - nicknamed the “Jumbo”. It is no surprise that the A series examples are hotly hunted and desired by collectors around the world. Only a few seem come to market each year.
The watch should fit a wrist up slightly approximately 6.8 inches and features the original flip “Audemars Piguet” flip clasp (often replaced with the AP flip clasp) with the Gay Freres “GF” logo. The watch dates to circa 1972. The case measures 39mm in diameter (48mm lug to lug) and this is the original “Jumbo”. The case and bracelet have been lightly polished in the past like on the vast majority of these, but this case is still super attractive on the wrist. The hands appear to be service replacement or relumed. It features a service crown.
This watch does not come with box and papers. The watch was recently serviced and is running well. For those hunting for an awesome A Series Royal Oak, do not sleep on this watch!

Rolex Milgauss Reference 1019 Black Dial w/ Service Papers & Service Box
When it comes to the antimagnetic wristwatches of the 1950s-1960s, several manufacturers produced what would go on to become iconic timepieces. Among those are the IWC Ingenieur, the Eberhard Scientigraf, the Omega Railmaster, as well as Patek Philippe’s reference 2570 / 2570-1 and 3417. However, one of the most beloved models of orientated for the physicist or engineer of the day was none other than the Rolex Milgauss.

The case has been polished.
This example features a 1.9M serial from circa 1969. This black dial dates to the late 1970s to the 1980s. We have seen a number of 1969 1019 examples end up with these types of black dials. Whether they are Frankenstein watches or Rolex had a large batch of 1969 cases they later used for black dials would be just conjecture - only God and The Crown knows and whoever worked at The Crown at that time is probably 6 feet under. We can’t represent this watches as all original, but there is a chance it is original.

Universal Genève SAS Polarouter 20214-4 Gold Plated
This is a very rare and special example of a Universal Genève Polerouter (pre-Polerouter) manufactured for SAS (Scandanavian Airlines Systems) for use on polar flights from Copenhagen to Los Angeles starting from 1954. The watch was designed by horological legend Gérald Genta. The black non-luminous dial features a a gold radial groove-patterned outer disc inset with the hour-markers, as well as non-luminous dauphine hands. The case features a gold cap over stainless steel and lyre (twisted) lugs. The case was made by Huguenin Freres (denoted by an HF on the inside case back) and bears a resemblance to later Speedmaster Professional cases also made by Huguenin Freres.
Only a few SAS-branded examples are known, the majority in steel with silver dials and a few in gold cases with gold dials. I love that the SAS logo incorporates the three flags of Scandinavian countries: Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only gold-capped example with black dial known to the market. The case serial number on this start with 1’649’XXX. It dates to the 1960s. It is paired with a gold plated UG buckle.
The watch does not come box and papers. We do not know the service history, but it is running well.
Rolex Domino's Air-King 14000 Unpolished
The Rolex-Domino’s connection is perhaps the ultimate high-low collaboration. These watches were not made for purchase by the public, but as a way to reward Domino’s franchise owners who hit their sales targets.
All these watches were originally ordered through Schlanderer and Sons in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Domino’s has its headquarters. In the past, these watches on the secondhand market were generally the least expensive Rolex a person could purchase as few people wanted a pizza logo like this on their dial. Dealers would buy them, swap out the Domino’s dial, and polish off the case back initials. Over the last year, however, they have gained a massive following.
This example dates to circa 1993 with an S17 serial. It was given to the recipient in 1995. The dial is incredibly attractive.
The case appears to be unpolished. It does not come with box and papers. It recently passed a water resistance test of 5 bar.
You can learn about these watches in our video Collector Conversation: Tom Monaghan - Founder of Domino's Pizza - on the Domino's Rolex.
