Rolex CERN Dial Milgauss Reference 1019 Full Set Unpolished
When it comes to the antimagnetic wristwatches of the 1950s-1960s, several manufacturers produced what would go on to become iconic timepieces. Among those are the IWC Ingenieur, the Eberhard Scientigraf, the Omega Railmaster, as well as Patek Philippe’s reference 2570 / 2570-1 and 3417. However, one of the most beloved models of orientated for the physicist or engineer of the day was none other than the Rolex Milgauss.
The Rolex Milgauss reference 1019 was the successor for the reference 6541. Like many of the Milgauss models over the years, the dial features a distinctive look that deviates from the consistent aesthetics from Rolex models. In this instance, it is the vertically brushed silver dial, with the broad red font. It features the large “ROLEX” font. The Antimagnetic case is designed to withstand 1,000 gauss.

Heuer Chronomatic Siffert Autavia Reference 1163
This Heuer “Chronomatic Siffert” Autavia reference 1163 is one of the most elusive grail chronographs from Heuer. It features a 1415XX serial. The very earliest Heuer automatic chronographs (Monaco, Autavia, and Carrera) said CHRONOMATIC on the dial above the Heuer shield and they date to 1969 with the model name appearing above 6 o’clock. Due to the lack of customers understanding what CHRONOMATIC meant, Heuer within a month or two of beginning production changed the dials to say “AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH” above 6:00 and moved the model name above the HEUER shield logo. In the last decade, only two Jo Siffert Chronomatic models have come to auction (in addition to one prototype).
These models were nicknamed after the legendary Swiss Formula One driver Jo Siffert who famously wore a CHRONOMATIC Siffert in his career and represented Heuer. Jo was a friend of Steve McQueen and inspiration for his character Michael Delaney and lent him his watch during the filming of Le Mans, although it did not end up in the movie.
The case has been lightly polished. It features an automatic movement (Caliber 11 made by Heuer-Léonidas), and is 42mm in diameter. It is paired on a later Heuer Gay Freres single beads of rice bracelet. This example features an unusual dial missing “SWISS” above the date window.
The watch was recently serviced and is running well. The watch does not include the box and papers. This is a rare opportunity for any collector of Heuer grail watches.
Rolex King Midas Reference 9630 in 18k YG
The King Midas was the most expensive Rolex by far at retail in the 1960s and 1970s. Starting in the 1970s, Rolex changed the dial to have Cellini instead of Midas in Greek on the dial and also introduced the smaller Queen Midas model. It is said that Gérald Genta designed these watches and they certainly seemed to be part of the evolution of integrated watch design that led to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, IWC Ingenieur 1832, and Patek Philippe Nautilus. The King Midas has been closely associated with Elvis Presley, who is photographed holding one, and more recently with Rihanna, who wore a customized model for her pregnancy announcement.
This Rolex King Midas reference 9630 is a tremendous and stylish timepiece. The case is made of 18K yellow gold. The bracelet can fit a wrist over 7 inches. It dates to circa 1965. The case reference and the serial number have been polished from the back of the bracelet and the serial is missing one number. This watch was sold at Bonhams in 2022.

Vulcain Cricket Grey Dial Ref S2328A Unpolished
This Vulcain Cricket reference S2328A is a fantastic and rare example with the rare grey metallic dial with a mirror track. Over the years of collecting, I have only seen three examples - one of which is in Eric’s personal collection which he wore in the Rolex Explorer Reference Points video!
